Gentlemen prefer Rainbows ;D I don't really know why but I wanted to try graphite & colored pencils together. Thought Marilyn Monroe would be cool too.
Done with Staedler Mars graphite pencils (hb to 8b) on bristol board paper.

To be honest, I absolutely loved every touch of the pencil which completed this very work. Everything is incredibly precise and filled with accuracy. But also, it is filled with want to show every single feature of a well-known star.
This is an absolutely magnificent and magic piece of work. Even though the idea of the black pencil and a colour-splash is quite popular and so often used, I may say that you took it to a new level of simplyness, beauty and originality. I cannot even guess how much nerves you needed to do a work on such a level. I may bow.
I cannot notice how neatly even the hair is done. Every tiny shade, every highlight, every curl - everything is done beautifully. Her face looks absolutely real and the fire in her eyes is dancing.
The shadows are done wonderfully, proportions increbibly exact.
Note:
I would suggest to make lips a little different.
Yes, they surely must stand out because of the change of colour, but somehow I think it would look better if on the edges of the lips the colour would fade a little bit. That's the only thing.
I did not find any 'serious' mistakes in this work. The only thing that ruins it a little are the lips, as I said. They really stand out and it seems, if you look carefully, that they are not even 'with' the face itself + it ruins their shape and also it looks like they are not quite to the correct side they need to be.
Still - I adore this work sincerely. Thank you for the effort in bringing the colours to the magnificent portraits of the famous stars.
Good luck in further works. )

I love the compostion ideas used in this piece of work. It accents Marilyns best features (all of them).
I would also find it fit to congratualte you on the accuracy of her features and the shading of the light angle extemly realistic, you also begin to wonder her thoughts as her eyes are almost half closed not even hinting towards the fact the her death was long past. The definiton used in her hair is also astonishing! How you managed that is far beyond my skills and I am in awe. Well done a+ I shall be watching <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt="

(One thing I did notice though was a mind mishape to her lip as her head is leaning to the left)
