UPDATE: WOW! I'm so excited at the response to this piece!! Thank you to each and every one of you who has viewed, favorited, watched and commented! I will try my best to reply to everyone. There will definitely be more to come! :D Wanted to come up with some type of design for business cards for myself as a Tattoo Artist and came up with this. Inspired by M.C. Escher's Eye of Death mixed with my own aesthetic. Referenced my own eye.

Done with Staeder Mars Lumograph graphite pencils, Hb to 8b and Dr. Ph Martins watercolors on bristol board.

To agree with Byrdman-08, I have as well seen the eye thing over and over, I do it my self too! But this is absolutely stunning. The small simple detail makes for a clean and simple look, and yet satisfying.
The color is what caught my eye out of the browser page! Instantly I said, "Damn, that's awesome!" Which may be under or over statement in ones opinion, but mine is that this piece is fantastic!
Keep this up!
The eye lashes, the inside corner of the eye and the wrinkle above the eye bring this together perfectly! The color is close to making it look like it's really rolling out of the eye!

I think this was a good piece, it's an interesting design that you could add to or just leave alone. I really like that fact that it is has a obvious meaning, but you can also ponder it. In my head I see the colors coming down then dripping slowly then fade into a grayness. It's your work is amazing, I can't very well think of any advice. It is very well done and a pleasure to see. Though one thing I don't get about it is, how some color is on the eyelashes while others are below, Besides that picture, perfect. For me at least.

I've seen the eye thing done at least 100 times, but, this one caught my eye. Pun intended. I really enjoyed the details put into this, and the skull that you placed in the iris. It is simply amazing work. You really have a talent, and can't wait to see more. There is a lot, visually, to look at in this piece.

The colors catch your attention really fast, and the details of the actual eye, is simply no less that breathe taking. It's almost wierd how your focus gets drawn to the colors first, I would assume they are tears, then you get drawn to the actual eye next where there is a skull. It's wonderful.

This is really beautiful. The use of vibrant colors mixed with the warm grey tones of the pencil makes this really stand out. You've really mastered the use of pencils to make dark/light contrast and the overall shape of the eye looks really good.

The iris seems a bit unregular and slightly blurry at the lower part, but except for that I got nothing bad to say. I don't think much to say about the composition, it's rather clean and straight forward and it works rather well for this.

I would love to see this concept taken up from the paper and put into some kind of costume. Maybe I'll use this piece as an inspiration for this years halloween costume

This piece is completely mind boggling, you've got the vibrant color that just catches peoples eyes and then you've got extremely talented delicate detail on the eye and eyelid and eyebrow.

I love the vision and mental impact of this, and the color swirls the dark look to it together.
I don't know about the skull though inside the eye, because I think a better reflection could be featured in the eye, but it does complete this piece overall.

I rated the originality four stars out of five because there is other pieces similar to this one, not because this piece was not excellent or anything.

Overall, excellent, excellent work! I look forward to seeing more work by you and seeing this piece featured on a business card of yours.

Wow - awesome piece. Reading the below critiques, I can't see any blurriness. It matters not. When you look at the whole, is is a stunning piece of work... except for that fucking watermark. This was almost desktop wallpaper.
