First of all, sorry for bad English :D

The last year I was asked a lot, what inspires me. What art I like. To be honest, I don't know much famos artists from the present. I only know, what hits me on DeviantArt, because still this is my favored art hub.

I want to give a little tribute to the eight most important artists, that made me the artist I am today. Some of them I only know since two years, others occured in my childhood.

so here's my little inspiration meme:

From my childhood and youth:

Luis Royo:
One of the first fantasy artists I saw. Of course I was fascinated by his pictures. The beauty, the strength of some of those women... I never could get the pictures out of my mind. What I learned from him was fantasy. Just fantasy. He inspired me to THINK fantasy.

Gerald Brom:
I discovered Gerald Brom just a few month after I have seen the first art from Luis Royo. In the world wide web, of course. Loooong ago. Allthough he inspired me in lot's of similar ways like Royo did, there are some things, that were special on his pictures. First of all the costumes, which were quite different to the ones Royo drew. And, very important to me: more not natural skin tones, like white for example. I was always fascinated by the way he painted skin.

Ruth Thompson:
Ruth was an artist I always got back to. She has her very own style, that I liked much. Also I need to name Nene Thomas here that I remember very well. There also was a picture done by both of them if I remember right. Ruth's pictures hit me another way the other artists did. There was more the feeling of story behind. Looking at all the pictures seed fantasy stories in my mind, and I begun writing. Thanks for that, Ruth!

From DeviantArt and Twitch

I try to sort it like a timeline

Cyzra or Anna Rigby:
I don't remember who showed me the first picture from Anna, but I loved her art a lot. I still do! I found her first on her own website, but shortly after on DA. The costumes and the hair (wow) she drew just hit me. I loved every detail on her characters. This was the first time I wanted to try to learn painting like that. But wow, there is still a loooong way to go for me.

Barn-Swallow:
Some of you know I have some groups here on DA and I watch a lot more groups. That was how I found Barn-Swallow. And wow. She hit me like Cyzra, I love the style of her drawings a lot. And her costumes. The way she drew hair and skin and dresses. Sometimes I still feel like crying looking at her art and then at mine :D Silly I know. I often find my going to her gallery when I struggle on a problem how to draw something. I usually find a picture that gives me a hint how to solve the problem. She also streams on Twitch where I learned a lot by watching the stream. So Magda, thank you for that!

Jujibla or Julia Faulwetter:
I found Juji on the streaming plattform Twitch. She is a very active art streamer and a friendly person. I can't even tell all the things I learned from her. It is a lot. Not one question about drawing and painting and other art related stuff she was unwilling to answer. And as a professional artist she knows a lot. I don't know if I would have gotten better with my art that fast without her advices. Her pictures always inspires me, make me think of stories, places - it motivates me to write and to draw. Thank you Juji!

AnotherWanderer and Hoanglap:
I discovered these two artists around the last 18 months. Before, I refused to look for new artists to discover, because I was so ill for years, that I never thought of having the opportunity to learn more about painting again. I just was too jealous. But the truth is, they inspired me to do it anyway. Why have I lost all the time by doing this? It was stupid. I love the designs of both. They made me feel like I'm 15 and totally new to Fantasy Art, Fantasy Writing and RPG. I missed that feeling a lot. Both are very creative and have great ideas and I want to have those ideas again, too. Thank you both for showing your Art here and painting pictures im my mind that I write stories about.

I know there is still a long way for me to go. I also know, that I will never be able to be as good as them, but i don't care. I will try to get as good as I can. That is enough. And I'm overgrateful that I had the chance to find these artists and get motivated instead of jealous by looking at their art.

Thanks to all artists out there who shares their work, their experiences and ther fantasies  You made more than one life better just because of your art!

Ande, that is SO sweet of you. I really appreciate every single word you put in here. I still kinda feel like a complete amateur, sometimes like a baby in the wood, when I'm trying to paint something new. XD But I'm glad that you find my work helpful. purple heart bullet It's really motivating. Thank you so much for your support! Fox emoji - cuddle
