Here's a character I did for Pathfinder RPG by Paizo Publishing! Since Adventure Paths 73 and 74 have been released I can show them now and will be posting a couple a day for the rest of this week! :)

Despite being a simpler design, I think this is one of my favorites from the set. In contrast to the Baphomet Cultist, with this one I played with a much more traditional process, starting with a textured canvas, painting loosely on top, gradually refining, and painting the white background over top of it all at the very end, and there's some things I really like about the little hints of texture it left across the character.

How did you do the chainmail? it came out really well, but it seems like a fool's errand to do it all by hand.

It's a mixture of textures and hand-painted. I used a texture to create the pattern of chainmail shadows, then duplicated it and warped it in to perspective numerous times until I covered the whole surface of the chainmail. Then the rest was hand-painted using dodge, burn and opaque painting to render the form and create some variety and texture to it so it wasn't so sterile looking.

Man, that sounds intensive, but it really looks good.

Very cool on all counts. Though I'm curious, what would you call that weapon? Reminds me of Loki's Chitauri sceptor. Light halberd? Battle spear?

it's so cool how you've made someone standing still whilst reading a book have a lot of movement in it

This is kinda amazing..and by kinda I mean wow and blowing my mind. I love how the chainmail (hope that's how they spell it^^) comes across and how the the weapon draws you from the head to toe of the character. I aspire to do stuff like this one day. Really beautiful man. Great job!

Thanks so much, I appreciate it! The chainmail was a bit of a challenge to figure out but I think it worked in the end, haha.
