New AncientCivilizations Group
Things have been moving quickly since my last Comment and Journal, www.deviantart.com/ancientcult… . Active member Sepdet has set up a new Group called AncientCivilizations, www.deviantart.com/ancientcivi… .
The new Group has a narrower scope than our one, it deals with the Mediterranean and near-east as far as Persia. So Northern European cultures, the rest of Asia, the rest of Africa and all the Americas are not covered. Even so, the fact that the Civilizations Group has an active Founder who can appoint extra Admins and create or delete folders etc gives it a distinct advantage. Our Group has become fossilised, the remaining Admins have too few powers to manage the Group effectively.
So I strongly recommend that all members of our Group join the new Civilizations Group. If you can, please volunteer to be a Co-founder or other Admin. Groups with only one or two Admins tend to die quickly, see my personal Journal about this problem from five years ago www.deviantart.com/bobswin/jou…
I have limited resources, so in a few weeks I will reduce my activity on this Cultures Group. I will focus what time I have on submissions that are for regions not covered by the new Group (see list above). So please carry on submitting those here, but submit Mediterranean world ones to Sepdet's Group.
