The raven reigns supreme, but what does it truly want?
Did the raven kill the dove, or merely happen upon it after the fact?
If the former, then the raven may have said much to defeat the dove, but does the raven truly believe these things?
Perhaps the raven is less confident than it pretends to be.
Is the raven happy as it feasts, or does it cry, wishing that the dove still ruled?
Fantastic piece of artwork. It's the most thought provoking thing I've seen in a while. I hope you'll forgive me for sharing a few of those thoughts.
You have an impressive gallery and a lot of talent.
The way you brought the feathers in and out of focus is masterfully done, the lighting contrast is so powerful that it's almost surreal, and ironically, the purple hues glimmering across the raven's neck feathers are truly beautiful.
The balance and composition is flawless. Her expression ties together the anguish of the scene and let's the symbolism resonate. It's interesting that you mirrored the birds in the sides of her face, it really hammers home the message.
I say nice things about a lot of artwork, but this is exceptional. Good job.
