Bite Sized Monster Life: River Life

Published:
3.1K Views

Description

((Bite Sized Zoo Arc: Strip 34))

Lemuria's rivers are one man-eating algea away from being a national concern...

Fun facts:
~ The Devil Hopper is a monstrously evolved Beelzebufo ampinga, a particularly large species of prehistoric frog dubbed by the popular media as devil frog, devil toad,or the frog from hell. While the real-life animal is believed to have preyed on small dinosaurs, the Lemurian vareity is big enough to feast on larger diet. Like pigs.

~ While there was such a thing as a real life prehistoric piranha (known as Megapiranha), the Lemurian Piranhas here are less inspired by that fish and more of the ones from Alexandre Aja's Piranha 3D (2010), one of my favorite monster movies.

~ My original choice for the featured prehistoric crocodile was Deinosuchus as that was the first prehistoric crocodile I've known as a kid, but I instead went for the Purussaurus since that croc is monumentally larger and I happen to love the fact that Purussaurus has a larger boopable snout. (Which I am fully aware could bite my head off...)

~ The Titanoboa seen here was originally planned to have a rattle-tipped tail, in tribute to an old movie back at 1999, King Cobra. I ditched the idea after A) I figured that would make little sense, and B) I re-watched the film and... well, let's just say I hated it so much now as an adult that I prefer to cut any association with it...

The rivers of Lemuria are horror movies factories.

(imagines how many had Lemurians fallen prey to those creatures)
