the muse stands in awe looking at the tree and we stand in awe looking at the painting (well, sit, actually). amy--one of the really cool things about your work is that the viewer's eye can get lost in it, drinking it all in, just as the figure in this painting is standing in rapt contemplation of the environment around her.

:D *I beam a huge grin at you! Thank you so much. Its so wonderful when people get my work so completely. To be understood as an artist has got to be one of the best things anyone could hope for.
I'm giving the original as a birthday gift to my mother. She is a musician and I see this as visual music and she loves it. There could be better reason.

I love your choice of colours in this piece. It real feels like a lush forest... or maybe a jungle!

Thanks! :D This one had a strange birth. I didn't like it at all at first because it wasn't what I was looking for at the time - wrong colours, but then I went back and drew gold all over it and pulled the luscious green forest story out of it. :) Funny how the creation process works, eh.

:) oh, you've outdone youself on this! this style of yours is getting more and more intricate or perhaps i'm getting better at seeing it ;). it looks like your taking control of fantasy - i'm not sure whether it be your fantasy or mine - whatever the case the subtlety of some colors mixed with the wild effect of the others gives a wonderful depth. the gold pen work is exceptional here. is it a self-portrait?
:? and what is acrylic ink??? i've never heard of it!

Oooh Acrylic ink is sooo much fun. It will be more permanant that normal ink over a hundred years or so? I'm told. Its slightly thicker and isn't translucent so you can either use it straight or with water to thin it down, but you get the strength of colour like acrylics but in liquid form - Which suits my work perfectly. I don't know where it has come from but all the art shops here stock it!
I don't think it is a self portrait, maybe only metaphorically. I enjoyed finding her and she stretched me in making her look like she was in awe of her surroundings. I think her eyes are closed and the feeling of the place is enveloping her. Maybe she is the visual representation of that muse I was searching for the other day?
Thank you for your wonderfully flattering comments anyway. Its lovely to get encouragement like you give! :D

hey, i'll have to look into that. perhaps it's the same technology as the art-photo-printer i've got - with synthetic nano-particles or something like that. i didn't know that the art world was developing new materials. have they brand names!?!? i'd like to try it myself (oh dear!) ...and if you're not claiming self-portraiture, then it looks like she could be your muse - if she is - say hello for me :blowkiss: she's doing a good job!

FW Artists Acrylic Ink.. Thats what its called! Comes in a glass jar with a glass pipet!

My muse, she must be! She was hiding along, thats what happened. I did this picture before I completed The Eagle purple painting, but discarded it for 10 days as I didn't like it, then I did all the purple others searching for my muse and here she was. In the most surprising of places, she was to be found with the gold pen in amoungst the green! :D Why am I not surprised! ;P
