First of all, no flames please. Any and all derogatory comments will be blocked.

This is a tribute to the year 2014, which had some pretty groundbreaking stuff happen in cartoons. The first image is from The Legend of Korra; in the series finale, it's hinted that female characters Korra and Asami begin a romantic relationship. The second image is from Clarence; in the episode "Neighborhood Grill," a homosexual couple can be seen kissing each other on the cheek.

To me, this is a big step in what is now considered acceptable in shows geared more for children. I'm going to be honest right now: I'm an asexual who supports LGBT rights. It always excites me when I learn of ways that things such as same-sex relationships are shown in ways like this. Yeah, it's positive, but at the same time...it's not treated like too much of a big deal. And to me, that's the point. It doesn't have to be a big deal; it just has to say "Yeah, these exist, and there's nothing wrong with that."

It's just a shame that the positive image Clarence brings us has most likely been overshadowed by the behavior that got Skyler Page fired. Honestly, I really feel bad for everybody involved in that. Yeah, what Page did to those women shouldn't have happened. Period. But at the same time, when you read that one blog post by Page's friend where he describes just how debilitating Page's bipolar disorder is, it's kind of hard to dismiss him as just another creep. Clearly, Page needs help, and I hope he can understand the error of his ways and get to a better place mentally. I really do hope that everyone involved is able to recover.

So, yeah...that's my two cents. Merry Christmas and happy New Year.

Amazing how homosexuality can be considered interesting for the kids to learn about instead of how the real world portray them.
