Animated Atrocities-Fly Boy by AMX-269 Animated Atrocities-Fly Boy by AMX-269
In my "Fairly-Odd Critique," I said that overall, I thought that Season 9 of "The Fairly Oddparents" was improving some areas. In comparison, this is one of the worse episodes that aired between Poof's birth and Season 9. Mostly because this plot is one of the stupidest plots I've ever seen in my life. Yeah, there were jokes in the earlier seasons where Timmy was forbidden from watching something that all of his friends watched. But in this episode, Timmy is specifically excluded from something because...life hates him, I guess. And then to drive that point home, they not only show everyone else watching the movie, they show Timmy getting repeatedly injured for trying to watch the movie, and Mr. Turner being his man-childish self while repeatedly soiling his pants. It that wasn't bad enough, they have to include a "joke" where Mrs. Turner sees what she thinks is Timmy eating from the trash ("again"), and her wondering if she should "start making dinner for three." WOW. Did the writers not think that "It's a Wishful Life" got the point across that Timmy's parents would be happier without him? I'm not sure why there are cartoon writers out there that think child mistreatment and neglect is supposed to be funny, but this episode shows that this was going on long before Nicole "Jackass" Watterson.

1-Last I checked didn't they have to do focus groups to make a specific rating, and u less Timmy was the only person scared, how would it work.
2-Timmy handled the movie better the Literally the entire damn town, since everyone made and angry mob just because a crazy guy said the fly monster was in his house.
3-Timmys parents "care" enough to make sure he doesn't watch a scary movie(and want to watch it on two tvs) yet don't care enough to feed him...child services suck ass in dimmsdale

Yeah this episode is quite bad but compared to other terrible Season 7 episodes like Crocker Shocker and Lights Out this one feels like a weak episode at best.I'll admit the episode had some pretty good animation and I did think it also had some funny lines too.But yeah I hated the Mrs.Turner part.

ANd let's not forget Dash Baxter's cameo...as a nerd, which he is not. Man, this episode was all kinds of messed up.

Don't know. Tucker would have been better for that cameo.

I know right? The thing that modern Fairly OddParents doesn't know is Timmy Turner had bad stuff happen to him in the earlier seasons but he wasn't the only one being excluded from events. That was way too cruel.

Like I said, at least in the episode where Timmy wished his parents didn't care, his not being able to watch something his friends were allowed to watch was more realistic (yes, believe it or not, Timmy's parents really did care for him at one time).

And yeah, it may seem a little hypocritical to ask for more realism in a cartoon, but there's a fine line between suspension of disbelief and just giving a character another slap in the face.

What I meant was that the age rating system of this episode was more messed up than video games rating system

Not to mention that the movie they were watching was basically a parody of the movie called"the fly" I don't think any of the kids today are going to get the reference
