Adventure Time: I Have an Arm, And I Must Cry by AMX-269 Adventure Time: I Have an Arm, And I Must Cry by AMX-269
Wow. This newest episode was one of the best I've seen in a while. Shoko's story was so fascinating, and her demise was so sad. What's best is that this one episode gave us so much development, we get a little more information about Bubblegum's past, and we finally learn what the deal was with that random ghost lady that we saw about two seasons ago. Seriously, if you get a chance to see this episode, do it. It's awesome.

I always wonder why the show has so many interesting characters, like her and Marceline and Ice King, all of which could stand on their own as having their own show. Yet all we get is Finn and Jake and 22 random fart jokes, and ever so often we get a dark and/or epic episode like this one that ends far to random and unsatisfying.

Well...in Finn and Jake's defense, Finn's still in is early/mid-teens. Sure, Jake's technically in his late twenties, but they're both still pretty young; plus, they really have no parental supervision. Of course they're still going to find stuff like fart jokes entertaining. I actually sort of like how the show is structured; all the backstories of the characters (Finn and Jake included) are slowly revealed over the episodes, allowing the fans to come up with their own theories in the meantime (I actually suspected that Marceline and Ice King already knew each other a while before "I Remember You").

And I'll admit, at least some things were answered in "The Vault"'s ending: we finally learned who that random ghost lady (Shoko) was, and it was confirmed that Princess Bubblegum is a lot older than her late teens.

Well, since it's the Land of Ooo, I'm not surprised. The values of Ooo's citizens are a little bit different than the norm.

Yeah, I guess I can agree with that. Of course, it might also be because there was presumably a lot more hype about "Simon and Marcy," especially after "I Remember You." Shoko, on the other hand, only made a real appearance in Season 3 and a handful of cameos before her episode. Either way, like I said, "The Vault" is one of the better episodes I've seen in a while.
