"Tyrant Suplex"
Tyrannosaurus rex, Torosaurus latus. A digital painting I did of a female Tyrannosaurus taking down a young Torosaurus.
The initial inspiration of this piece was from the Dinosaurs in the Wild exhibit. In the exhibit there is a video depicting a night hunt of a trio of Tyrannosaurus on a Triceratops herd, separating one from the rest of the herd. One Tyrannosaurus flung the Triceratops by the neck, stunning if before another Tyrannosaurus comes in for the killing blow. You can find this video on their Facebook page. I wish I could have seen it at the DITW exhibit in the UK.
I wanted to try something a little new with the lighting. Since I have been watching a lot of Aaron Blaise's videos and using his Photoshop brushes, I decided to try something akin to his dramatic and dynamic lighting. I had started the initial sketch sometime last fall, but at a more level angle. I reset the composition to a Dutch angle as I thought it made it more interesting.
Completed in early February 2019.
Done using Photoshop CC and pencils.
