Description
“The Slenderdactyl Returns”
Quetzalcoatlus northropi, Pectinodon bakkeri. An acrylic painting of the Slenderdactyl pursuing a pair of Pectinodons, making a meal of one of them.
This painting was inspired by a resin model of a Quetzalcoatlus resin model I am working on at the moment, which I used as a reference. I had plotted out the composition in Photoshop prior to printing it out and transferring it to a sheet of Bristol board. A friend of mine also helped me refine the composition prior to me finalizing the pencil work.
With this out of the way, I am moving on to some larger paintings I have set on my schedule.
Completed in late March 2020.
Done using acrylics, color pencils and Photoshop CC.

I am amazed by the attention to detail, and how the light seems to reflect off the individual leaves. And of course, the pterosaur is majestic.
