“In the Presence of Slenderdactyl”

Quetzalcoatlus northropi, Tyrannosaurus rex. An acrylic painting of a baby Tyrannosaurus about to fall prey to the Slenderdactyl.

This was an impromptu painting that I did because I just happened to have a spare 40” x 10” section of illustration board cut from a full 30” x 40” sheet. I decided to render a full, anterior view of Slenderdactyl’s face, since that view is relatively rarely done. It has a weirdly uncanny look to it.

This was a belated Halloween 2020 piece that I could not finish in time, and will be the third Slenderdactyl piece for this year (there’s one more in the works).

Completed in late November 2020.
