It took me a bit to get the comments you got below this one... vvv But I just wanted to let you know Maggie that I feel the same way all the time. ;3; I probably hate my art 90% of the time and lately have liked my unfinished things more than my completed things I took longer on... I just want you to know as someone who HAS known you for years (Compared to some of the comments stating they haven't known you for long, lol. ;3; ) that you have improved. While I can't say where exactly as i'm not always watching as fluently anymore... I can tell when comparing your art to previous years I have known and seen you grow through. :/ Hell, if you need a little encouragement, my latest art I posted starts off ripping on how much I hate it... So you're not alone! ;3; My dad always told me your hardest artistic critic will be yourself, and so far I've found that true though too. Seems no one hates my art as much as I, and I bet it's the same with your art. ;3; I always thought what you did was cute and yet somehow could deal a heavy load of seriousness at the same time... It's just your style! Now if you don't like that, take the struggle and threaten to change it? I found mine has changed by copying bits of what others do by watching redraws, or by making mistakes and realizing I liked them so I kept doing it lol. Just a few tips from a growing artist as well. ;~; (Examples: Realizing how someone draws fur in their warrior cats videos, how they tackled a body part like a paw or how they drew their necks, even some artists who draw necks on things you normally wouldn't likeminecraftpeoplelol... Hell, how one draws claws/feet for dragons? I grew by trying to do these myself, it's inspiration! Not copying- those are two separate things thank god lol...)

I think it, sadly, comes with being an artist. Like your dad said, it's honestly awful to have horrible throughts floating around your head >_< but you are your biggest critic... Just wish that wasn't the case. I'm glad I have people like you around to reassure me I'm not alone though! It's weirdly comforting knowing that others think sad things about their art, too. Though, I do hope one day we stop thinking that way and enjoy looking at our finished works. I mean, I do find pieces I really like of mine... every like, 10-30 submissions xD

Right? I think I only liked maybe four things I did last year, and all of it was like incomplete stuff but one thing. I didn't post a lot last year because of that and that I used to draw the most when in school, so now that i'm no longer in school I've massively declined. I was just telling Eagle I think like a week ago that it wasn't art block like she was suggesting but more like... Um... A lack of motivation? Like I WAS to draw but I'm not motivated enough to try anymore, so i'm forcing myself to draw. But it's not like struggling through art block, you know? Because I've had that before in the past so I know that's not what it is now. It's just super weird, and though my dad told me that critic thing years ago? I just always remember him telling me that... Even if I haven't seen or heard him psychically (And on phone for hearing) in about two years now... (Because I think I was eighteen when I stopped trusting him, and it's been rocky every since.) Point being though that some messages and memories don't go away, I think I'll likely always remember those words about being your own toughest critic for as long as I live now that I've been into art. Even if it's just as a hobby. ;3;
Yeah... I will admit it's a little weird hearing others struggle makes you happy, BUT... Tbh? I actually think it'd/does make me happy too, so as weird as it is I totally get it. Sort of like one of those, um... "At least I know if i'm suffering, i'm not suffering alone." kind of things. Yeah it sucks ANYONE'S upset and I wouldn't WANT anyone upset, but if I had to be? It's nice to share it and get past it with someone else too, ya' know? I hope that makes sense. ;3; Just a weird thing of life I guess lol...
But trust me Maggie, yeah, I will admit it... Your style doesn't look like it's changed too much, but how you make your art? Has. So one way or another you are STILL progressing. Some just go faster than others. ;3; If you ever need to just rant about your own art? Feel free to message me here or on Skype. I rant about my own openly all the time, even if others tell me they like it as much as I hate it. x'D I think everyone goes through it, not sure I've ever known an artist that liked absolutely everything they ever did... ;~; Keep drawing though, the only reason I'd ever tell you to stop? Is if you absolutely never had a single new moment in your life that you enjoyed it. But if you want to stop just because you think you're not good enough? Don't. You are good enough, you just don't see it. ;3; It's when art starts to make you ALWAYS miserable that it should end because it's bringing you down, not because you're going through a tough/dark spot and you're struggling to see the light. Does... That make sense??

Hey there-- I know I'm a little late, but just know that you are an amazing artist and that and we've all been in your position before. I've been up and I've been down... and I have since stopped drawing anything for a long long time. You, however, have only prevailed and kept going though both the ups AND the downs. You have done it before and I know that you can do it again, friend!

Please-- don't give up. If I've learned anything from you, its that you can only keeping going forward. And hey-- humans are objectively the hardest thing to draw and we've all been there. You get there though and it'll be all the more worthwhile once you do! ^^

I may not know you for long but I do think you are a really amazing artist so don't feel down in the dumps. I'm sure there's tons of people that have been in the same position you are and I know that eventually you'll just keep getting better and better. Know it probably doesn't mean much but I really hope good things come your way.

Every little word counts. I've had a few people message me about the picture I posted and they've all been so touching I started to cry. As I've gotten older these downer moments become less and less, but sometimes they overwhelm me and I just need to get it out of my system you know?
Thank you so much for your words, I'll be sure to respond to your commission when I'm feeling like new again (hopefully tomorrow)

Glad it matter and I hope everything gets better for you. I know how it can be like I've gone through similar stuff holding in my feelings about something until it reaches the point when I can't take more of it. Yeah getting it out of your system from time to time can help but hopefully with the support of others like probably everyone who's been supporting you through it can help it calm down.
You're welcome and yeah you can reply when you're feeling better. Though I understand if you take your time to clear out your head so don't worry.
