Cloud Strife's "First Tsurugi" from Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children~!!!

Weapon making and photography and editing, catering and providing of venue by :iconamenokitarou: (lol Kriz you are such a douche)

This is the final deviation for this weapon. :)
It shows the weapon separated into all 6 blades and how each one works.

hmmm...it looks almost like a toy catalog....:s

Now alot of people call this thingo the Buster Sword...it's called First Tsurugi. :)

~Useful Info~
The sword is built entirely of Foam core boards, with a wooden core in the centre sword to support everything else. The sword can be disassembled into the 6 separate blades.

The centre sword (Vigilante), opens and closes in and out of the battle mode. These are done by making wooden pegs inside the centre blade.

The smaller blades (Ascalon and Sidewinder) have turning handles and gears.

Everything is pretty simple about the making of this weapon since it was quite the rush job. Most techniques utilized can be found performed at most primary school art classes. (Eg. cutting foam boards, gluing shapes together to make a 3D shape...etc.)

If i've missed anything that you wanted to know, please feel free to ask ^^

Enjoy~

Congrats on Squall :)
No sorry. I have no drafts of this prop as I just made it free hand on the spot.
I suggest you go do some research for pictures from the movie and do your own measurements rather than looking for drafts if you want your product to be accurate.

so much epic *-*
how much do you spend on all your materials and supplies?
You told me how to do the crystal effect on the crystal-coated armor over a year ago, and I really want to do stuff like this but money's an object.

*throws down a watch* too much epic stuff to not watch *-*

Aw thanks for the watch :)

This one was about $80. Mostly because I used foam core, which is a tad expensive...But it's possible to make this cheaper.

not too high I hope...
We can negotiate a price if you like.
I spent about $90 in materials on it... so plus labor I would probably like about $120-ish for it?

Hi there.
I used a PVC pipe for the handle. They're available in the plumbing section of hardware stores.
I think the diamter was about 35mm (?)
I hope that helps.
