Tribute to Graffiti

Toronto's graffiti and street artists provide beautiful examples of artistic work taking over our modern ----sometimes artless---- cities. My interest in Graffiti lies in the following question: doesn't Graffiti provide a clue regarding the relation between property and art? Perhaps this very important question will be taken up in a journal further on.

So, I had added this to my favorites a year or so ago...and I was walking through Kensington Market today in downtown Toronto (where I live) and saw this painted on the wall and remembered that I had seen it on deviant art.

Que buen grafiti. Definitivamente muy diferente de los que se ven por aquí: "Uribe Facista" "Gringos HP" y cosas por el estilo. Este expresa mucho mas que los que acabo de mencionar, y de una manera mucho mas sutil y estética.
En verdad que el graffiti aqui es especial. Claro en Canada no existe una guerra total que deba ser expresada por sus ciudadanos. Pero lo cierto es que el graffiti en Colombia no debiera decir "Uribe fascista" sino mas bien "Farc *^*%^%".

not really. here only the occassional gang scrawl and they get right out and paint over them as soon as they appear.
