i love your abstractions!

Thank you so much. You are welcome to see them when you feel truly abstract. :-) One question. What for you is the pull of abstractionism? :-)
eisley's avatar
the pull would probably be the mental stimulation of trying to relate it back to what it once was, and even if that\'s not possible, admiring the trimming process that had to take place.

Wonderful analysis. I love the way that you put it "the trimming process". Though I am not sure I do actually begin with a complete image I trim, but rather have come to see the abstract image not so much as a trimming of an observed reality, but more as a deepening into the structure of that reality. But it LOOKS so simple that we are puzzled by thinking that it could be a deepening. Would you agree? :-)

it takes very little creativity to look at something and do a representational drawing, though the physical task may be a bit daunting. it takes a lot more thought to look at something and abstract qualities from it. these may be qualities that are only hinted upon in the original object or scene (and in some cases, they are practically nonexistant). the simplicity of an abstraction is purely physical. The theory behind an abstraction takes much more contemplation, so in the theoretical sense, an abstraction is INCREDIBLY deep as compared to a representation...

I absolutely love the way you have put into words the effect of abstraction on the activiation of our powers of imagination, feeling and thought. Wonderful words you have posted. Muchas gracias de verdad. :-)

No, I do not think you should straighten the window.... I am practicing being ok with imperfection, since life is imperfect... I like the use of contrasting straight and curved line.... :sun: :highfive:

I believe admitting our imperfections may propel us towards much greater and deeper perfections. :D

:giggle: I asked my acupuncturist once, what happens if someone is in perfect balance. She said, "I think they explode"

Ohh you make me laugh. :D I once met an acupuncturist who had written his whole life --day by day-- in hundreds of notebooks. He was from North Korea. He shared one with me. :juggle:

Oh my, that sounds interesting... even those acupuncturists have their quirks :giggle:

Ohhh it's a window with pretty mountains! When I first saw the thumbnail of this I thought it was people looking at something in a frame, like a photo or something, but the title has since informed me that it's a window lol =P

Yep, I continue with my love for windows. Do you love them Alicia? :D

Windows... Hmm yes, they are cool, but I prefer mirrors. I see mirrors as a door into another world that we cant enter. There's a really cool angle that I can look in my mirror, and it looks like a door into a room identical to mine... It's so cool!

Please take lots of photos with mirrors and share them with us! But be careful you fall in love with yourself too much! :D

 HAHAHA! Nice call. I'm not much into photography unless it's manual photography where I process the photos myself. I'll see what I can do =)
