My Bio

I attended The Evergreen State College for English and Fine Arts and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree. I currently live in central Kentucky. My favorite medium is watercolor and I like to paint flowers for relaxation. My current work is as an online college course tech support person. I hope to go back to college and get my Masters. That would allow me to teach college, which is a dream of mine.

I have a little Cobalt Blue, and I'm really enjoying it. It's similar to Pthalo Blue, but at least this brand of Cobalt Blue is non-staining, so I can use lifting techniques with it.

A video I enjoyed by a watercolor instructor on YouTube about mixing greens caused me to reflect on what I have learned this year about mixing greens. Thanksgiving and onward is always a time to reflect on the year, as it's drawing to a close. Here is her video: https://youtu.be/VN2Wdd18osQ And here is what I have to say about mixing greens. Mixing greens was surprising for me. Paints I would have thought I needed to keep apart produced my favorite colors. In the video, Michele Webber calls these mixes "Recipes", which is cute. Very well, I'll go along with her. My Favorite Recipes Pthalo Blue + Quinacridone Gold Deep -- This is a lovely pine green that can act as a substitute for the niche Daniel Smith color Cascade Green. Unlike Cascade Green, not granulating. Cobalt Teal Blue + Cadmium Yellow -- This is a beautiful, bright, sunlit green like a more interesting version of Pthalo Yellow Green all the way out to a substitute for Permanent Green Light. Unlike either of those

Thank you very much for the favorite of my green desert painting!

And thanks for watching me!

I just read on your profile that your dream is to teach at college. That's a wonderful dream. You really should pursue that.

I myself am teaching electrical engineering.

Thanks so much! And it's really cool that you teach electrical engineering!

I do love teaching.

Thank you for the faves!

Glad you like my art.

Frozen Winter Lakeside

Your art is soft and beautiful!

I actually struggled with creating sharp edges and detail thus I decided to lean into that. Specializing in soft art making heavy use of blending and soft color shifts.
