Rain's Ongoing Wild Things Show

Skeldr: Greetings my fellow wildlings. My name is Skeldr and I manage the proceedings on these grounds. A herdmate pointed out that while there are many shows and competitions for our tame brethren to show of their strengths and skills, there are not so many for us wild creatures outside mating grounds. Through a collective effort across species we have put together these competitions to show off our feats. For any equipment you need adjusted, we have a team of raccoons, squirrels, lemurs, and koalas who have offered their aid and will happily take snacks as a tip. I am not much for show-creature-ship, so let's get started.

Show Notice Board

All classes  are open to all species (beaurevers, rukaans, boucles, tokotas, shivali, shedu, equine, cervidae, canine, feline, dragon, and more) as long as they meet entry requirements.

*For Rukaans: this show meets all requirements for a Member Hosted Competition in Fields of Valhalla and should be eligible to claim the Fields of Valhalla group show rewards !

Classes will be soft closed with a deadline for judging after they receive 5 entries. If a class is soft closed you my STILL submit an entry before the deadline. In the case of over 5 submissions for a class, classes will be split. If you missed submitting for a round and have an unfinished piece, your piece may still be eligible for the next round as weather condition descriptions roll in the way of natural seasons and class location descriptions are mostly unchanging.

In the case that it has been two months after the most recent soft closed deadline and other remaining classes have zero entries, all classes will proceed to the next round. However, if a class has at least one entry but has not met the minimum entry requirements two months after the most recent soft deadline, the entry(ies) will be bumped to the next round. A bump will only occur once.

Example Scenario: The show has Classes A-F. Class A gets two entries in round 3. All other classes fill and are judged. It reaches two months after the last soft closed deadline and the two Class A entries are bumped up to round 4 will other classes advancing to round 4. Classes B-E fill and are judged for round 4. It has been 2 months since a soft deadline and there is still no 3rd entry to Class A. Class F has received 0 entries for round 4. Classes B-E will be closed for round 6 until Class A has run. Say Class A receives a 3rd entry, yay! Now it has a soft deadline. After that soft deadline, Classes B-E will open for round 6 and class A and F will be open in round 5.

Please read the requirements and course description carefully (remember weather description for bonus points),  ask any questions you have, then scroll to the bottom of this journal for the entry form and correct comment thread to enter!

Round & Weather Board

Current Open Round: 1

Weather: Spring is coming in with tenacity from the edge of winter. The flowers are already budding out from under the snow. As the earth warms, the ground takes a long drink from the melting snow. Clouds once heavy with snowflakes are now rolling in laden with rain. At the rate it is going, "April showers bring May flowers" promises a summer saturated with flora.

Background: Due to the heavy rains, athletic classes are highly likely to become muddy. Be carefully of slipping on slopes, especially in sprints or endurance classes! A pregnant mama skunk might be surprised by you presence on the rocky slopes or near bushes. Be careful not to upset a mama bear showing her cubs how to fish, and mind your steps around the baby bunnies!
