You know what you've done.
Lies, deception and decay.
For you the best seat.

(A submission for Utata's "Iron Photographer 102" project.)

1 - a chair
2 - something white
3 - gothic style

Many thanks to my friend Nicole for helping out with this one!

Thank you. It was tough keeping the modern stuff out. The chair was the cheapest thing we could find. The plastic coat hanger was on the scene and my assistant insisted upon it being in the shot. Hey, when you feel the art move you, you just have to go with it!

The whole moving-blurry-ghost thing was an accident, as most of the fun art ends up being for me. We tried hanging the chair from various angles from the roof, which my fearless assistant hung for me - even made the noose!

Fun fact: the rope almost cost as much as the chair! :)

Cool stuff! I just love how it all comes together. The fact that the chair isn't an old wooden one makes it even more striking in my opinion. Also the fact that the ghost is in the background makes it just part of the scene and not the most important aspect which it would have been in the chair. Overall though I think you did a great job with the resources you had.

Oh I know. Pretty challenging to find an old wooden chair, that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, and that I can lug a few miles to this decrepit, sealed-off water treatment plant. We decided on placing the ghost behind the chair because we needed to have the chair be clearly visible for the project it was being submitted to.

It's funny, because if I weren't looking for old decrepit wooden chairs, I would find them all over the place! With only one week left in a two-week deadline, my options were somewhat limited.

Thanks for the comment!
