- Penguin Knight Armor -

A suit of magic armor that is carved from perma-frozen ice that has been re-enforced with magic. This armor produces an aura of cold that keeps the armor and it's occupant at temperatures that would kill a normal human via hypothermia. Also this armor allows the wearer to be able to slide on their belly like a penguin which allows them to travel quickly, especially if it's on an icy surface.

- Royal Apteno Sword -

A magic sword that was carved from perma-frozen magically-enhanced ice by a blacksmith from a species of magic sapient penguins. This sword functions as one of the catalysts for much of Orn's more offensive cold-based abilities.

- Snowflake Shield -

A magic shield that was carved from perma-frozen magically-enhanced ice by the blacksmith who made the sword. This shield functions as one of the catalysts for much of Orn's defensive cold-based abilities. Mostly this shield is capable of forming a forcefield around it's bearer when called upon.

This is a character that actually was co-created by my little brother when he was a lot younger like around 2010. Though when I told him about this character more recently he said that he doesn't remember it, which kinda bummed me out to be honest. I mean stuff like that is partly why I try to recover and save every piece of old art I could find because I don't like possibly good ideas being forgotten especially if you know someone who had a hand in making it.

Anyway, here's the new version of this character's story.

The knight known as Orn Frostblade is what is known in his home realm as a Cryo-Kin, an extinct breed of short magical humans who have adapted to living in sub-zero temperatures without the need for specialized clothes like normal humans need. Though this has made them very vulnerable to temperatures higher than sub-zero.

The realm that Orn came from was one of Elemental Ice, basically a world that is completely covered in arctic ice and is constantly near sub-zero temperatures. And the main sapient species that live in this world is what are basically magical penguins known as The Apteno, who developed their own civilization that is reminiscent to a fantasy medieval setting.

Orn was actually the last Cryo-Kin that is known to exist in his world as he was found as an infant by a traveling caravan of Apteno merchants who crossed over a location of what was originally a Cryo-Kin village that was razed to the ground with no other survivors.

And since Orn was a rare specimen of a previously thought wiped-out race, they brought the child to the local kingdom and to the regent of the area. Mostly as a valuable oddity that could be worth a high price.

This local regent was Shaah Frostblade-

- who was fascinated by this live specimen and bought the infant from the merchants and decided to adopt him, giving him the name Orn. Orn was mostly raised alongside The King's daughter, Raiy-

And the two were basically brother and sister though since Orn wasn't of the king's bloodline he doesn't really have the same kind of standing that the actual royal family has and he functions more as a playmate. Though as Orn grew up, he became fascinated with becoming a knight like the ones that defended their kingdom, so Shaah had him become a squire, learning the tricks of the trade from more experienced knights as well as learn the concept of Chivalry. And when he finally went through the grueling training regime upon reaching adulthood, he finally was able to become an official knight and was given his own set of armaments like armor, a shield and a sword that work as catalysts for Orn's abilities to go though.

Though one day, he ended up getting caught by a strange rainbow-colored portal and he was taken from his reality and he ended up in The Super-Sargasso Sea. Specifically in The Collage Catacombs in a chamber that is basically a self-contained arctic environment like back home though with a rather different culture and civilization. Though when he ended up in that chamber of The Catacombs, he landed in a more rocky area that had a strange abandoned shrine with a egg the size of an ostrich's with a unusual symbol on the front in the middle of the shrine.

Orn took a minute before he finally realized what the shrine is for, so on a whim, he kneeled down at the base of the shrine and give out a short prayer to whatever deity was being worshiped on this shrine. However that short prayer actually caused the egg in the center to finally start moving before it finally cracked open, revealing a strange ice-blue baby chick humanoid with the same symbol on it's chest that the egg had. This creature was actually an Oblitus known as Tundrana, The Cold Flame.

-A living manifestation of a forgotten memory of a winter deity that 99% of people in The Catacombs do not know about. And since she's based on a goddess that just about nobody around her doesn't know about, she is usually very weak due to both a lack of both recognition and worship she received and was basically stillborn before Orn came along and give that prayer to her.

And Tundrana was as equally clueless as to where the hell she was along with Orn. So Orn decided to take the small bird with him as he travels in this strange new world. And Orn did realize that the more prayers he gives to Tundrana, the more power she gains and slowly grows over the years. Though since normally it's just Orn giving these prayers the amount of growth she gains is at a rather sedated rate and could only make some very minor blessings for the longest time.
