They're planes dropping some kind of weapon that accidentally created SCP-106.

The Pocket dimension was based on how he interpreted it, so this is how he saw them. Monsters; something to fear.

He was mentally changed by that hole, it screwed him up A LOT. Mentally, Physically, and Mortally. I feel bad for that poor fucker.

Yeah it did. But I wonder: was he human to begin with? There's a lot of suspicious stuff before the... incident. Then again, maybe it was just a bunch of coincidences?
