What is Amalgam Comics?

Back in 1996, as part of the 'Marvel vs DC' crossover published that year, a series of 12 specials were published featuring characters that were amalgamations of Marvel and DC characters, published under the Amalgam Comics seal. Other batch of 12 specials were published the following year, and other than a few nods here and there, it was seemingly forgotten by the editorials. But not by the fans.

Over the last twenty years, fans have worked on continuing the original stories, fleshing characters mentioned in a throwaway manner in the comics or the accompanying trading cards, or creating amalgamated characters from whole cloth.
I assume that most of you know what dollmakers are, so I'll skip directly to the links for the ones that are superhero-based:

*Heromachine ( Probably once of the better knowns out there, there are several versions in the official site: Version 3 (…), Version 2.5(…) and original (…).

*X-Girl ( A dollmaker centered about making female X-Men character, although with some options for more generic superheroine characters.

*Hero Factory ( similar to Heromachine, although with a more cartoon look (early versions were outright aping the DCAU style) it's development has unfortunately stopped. It needs installing instead of being online like Heromachine or X-Girl. The site is in Portuguese, and the program also starts in Portuguese (though it has the option to change the language to Spanish and English)

*Wonder Woman (…): quite limited in scope, though you can do some stuff with it.

*Sailor Senshi Maker (…): the name is self explanatory.

Have some suggestion for anotehr program? Go ahead and I'll add it to the list.

I have some Amalgam ideas, but they're not Marvel/DC, they're more Disney/Looney Tunes. Is that okay?

Yes, it's okay.

Working on my lists again, anyone have any ideas for Batwing? (as an ally to Bruce Wayne of S.H.I.E.L.D, not Dark Claw)

I am working on a b-list new-york heroes / heroes-for-hire type of list, does anyone have any ideas for Jessica Jones?
AntonioCC Featured By Owner Jan 5, 2018  Hobbyist Digital Artist
I know that Mikel Midnight did a few stories of an amalgamation of Jessica and the pulp hero The Spider, but beyond that...

I actually decided on Cameron Chase from the DEO.

I know that you are using Cameron Chase for your amalgam but I personally used Sally Sonic for mine.

I apologize, I got a correspondence request from this page but sadly it expired before I could see it.  Sorry about that, I haven't been able to get on as much as I have in the past.  I didn't mean to be rude, sorry about that!!!

It was probably asking for permission to post some of your drawing here. Don't worry about that.

Okay.  And sure, go ahead, I'm sure my cousin William wouldn't mind either.  I'm all for it, William and me are big Amalgam fans.  I even got an issue of X Patrol yesterday, really fun!!!
