Here we have another break with cartoon villain tradition with the sultry Fox, love-interest and eventual wife of main villain David Xanatos. At first it seems she and her team of mercenaries, The Pack, are just side villains to pad out the episodes, but then it turns out that not only are they being funded by Xanatos, but he and Fox have been in a relationship for some time.

In a fascinating turn of events, we actually see their relationship grow over the course of the series. We see them get married and even have a child together. And they genuinely love and care about each other and their family. In fact, their son is the impetus for Xanatos burying the hatchet with Goliath and eventually becoming a full-blown ally to the Gargoyles.

Two villains fall in love and have a happy marriage, plus kid. How often does that happen?
