Archmage-Portrait

By far, my favorite episode of the entire series has to be Avalon part 2. This is when all the plot threads in the series up to this point all come together and reveal what's really been going on behind the scenes. Xanatos may be a master schemer, but even he didn't play 4D Chess like the Archmage, who manipulated nearly every major character in the show over the course of centuries. And it worked!

He survived his supposedly fatal fall, traveled to the future, gained powerful allies in the Weird Sisters who stole the three artifacts for him and acquired the ultimate magical power. Everything Demona and Macbeth went through together was part of the Archmage's design.

This episode blew my mind as a kid; I'd never seen anything pay off like this before and have rarely seen it done since.
