The Brazilians and the Argentines have the advantage in the South Atlantic.

The Argentines take advantage of this to attack and take the important English base of the Malouines Islands. It is well defended but not against an Argentine attack. Too far away and isolated, it falls after 46 days of siege on November 15.

Then the Argentines launch with the Brazilians against Madagascar and the Vrijland.Madagascar and its naval base of Diego Suarez is defended by 380,000 English. The Vrijland has 1 million soldiers.

But the Brazilians have mobilized 3 million soldiers in Southern Africa and the Argentines assemble an enormous fleet of 90 large ships, 1000 transports, 500,000 men with a total reserve of 3 million.

The English had no reinforcements to send and so it was the USA who reluctantly sent 65 large ships, 800 transports and 400,000 men from the Pacific.

The Argentines await them and meet the US fleet after it has convoyed its troops to Vrijland. The Battle of the Glorieuses on December 1st sees the clash of 71 US/UK battleships against 90 Argentines. The battle is indecisive, each losing about 15% of its units.

The US fleet manages to reach Diego Suarez and resupply while the Argentines go to Delagoa. However, the US decides to abandon the fight and retreats towards English Indochina. They judge the position too far away and the Argentine fleet too strong.

Nothing can therefore oppose the advance of the Brazilians to Vrijland and the landing of the Argentines in Madagascar which takes place on December 15.
