For the USA, the goal is "never again". So Brazil must be kept as far away as possible. Mexico and the Antilles must act as a buffer zone and as many Brazilian settlers (often militarized) as possible must be driven out of North America.

Oregon is annexed by the USA and the UK. It was populated by 200,000 settlers, almost all Brazilian. They are all expelled to Russian Alaska, California and South America.

Louisiana/Florida annexed by the USA was populated by 2,000,000 Brazilian settlers and 300,000 descendants of French settlers. All Brazilian settlers are expelled, the French are allowed to stay. 500,000 Brazilians go to Texas, the others to South America.

Haiti goes from Brazilian protectorate to US protectorate without much change in its fate.

Mexico (amputated from Costa Rica which remains Brazilian), the Spanish Antilles and the Galapagos Islands are united within a Kingdom of Mexico which is entrusted to the Carlist pretender, Juan of Bourbon (1822-1887). This kingdom of Mexico with a federal constitution is only a puppet state under US control. California and Texas, mainly populated by Brazilians (there are 2,690,000 left), are integrated into Mexico.

However, there are still thousands of Brazilian rebels and bushmen in the Rocky Mountains. Mixed with the Indians, they form more or less criminal bands that harass isolated settlements and travelers.
