Marie Ière has completely rebuilt the Normandian fleet. In 1540 his son Wulfnoth had 200 warships including 80 heavy caraque with 4,400 heavy cannons. It is by far the largest fleet in the world, twice that of Spain.
When a new war in Europe broke out in 1542 broke out in Europe between Spain and France, Wulfnoth launched its fleet against Pernambouco and also Java where Spain established an important base in 1535.

This war is a real success.
Pernambuco with its 260,000 inhabitants. was conquered from 1544 to 1547 despite some resistance.
Santa Cruz in Java (10,000 inhabitants) fell in 1545 with forces coming from Belle Ile.
On April 25, 1546, the Vinland fleet crushed the Spanish fleet at the Battle of the Canary Islands.
On May 1, 1548, the Treaty of Porto confirms the annexation of Pernambuco and Java by the Vinlanders.
A new cycle of Vinland expansion begins.
