What if the colonization of Vinland had succeeded?
Here is that story!

-----------------------
Richard VI seeks to control the Grand Duchy of Kebec. In 1436, he accused the new Grand Duke, Wulfnoth VIII (1401-1435-1442) of harboring Lollards – English heretics – in his domain. He asks to deploy inquisitors there. Wulfnoth VIII sees this as a way to prepare a takeover of his country and decides to attack first in 1437.

Wulfnoth VIII tries to put the war in Normandite but this one has financial means at least four times higher. The Kebec must call on its own resources while the Normandite can import thousands of European mercenaries.

From 1438 the Normans waged war on the Kebec, forcing Wulfnoth VIII on the defensive. He repelled all attacks until 1441. But during this time the Normans conquered the Mississippi basin bu south, which was impossible to defend.

In 1442 Wulfnoth VIII launched an attack in the middle of winter on the Gaspeg and died of cold by falling into a frozen lake.
His son Wulfnoth IX replaced him and tried to maintain the resistance before being crushed at the battle of Baron Bridge on July 25, 1442 where he died. But the Normandite failed to take Kebec and had to withdraw before winter.

However, the war ends here with the peace of St Pierre on December 21, 1442. A rectification of the border takes place but above all the Kebec loses almost the entire Mississippi basin – sparsely populated.
If Normandite dominated, it is exhausted like Kebec. Richard VI failed to subjugate the Grand Duchy of Kebec which remains de facto independent.

I hope kebec gets the Mississipi Basin Back, I liked them holding that region, Don't want them to be some more Further South Canada, especially without any of the eastern coast.
