Jean II manages to maintain his control over the north of the country. In January 1395 an English army coming from Izabal crossed the border to “maintain order”. In fact, it joins the rebels. On March 5, 1395, the Anglo-rebel army defeated the prince's army at Toluca.

In the 1380s, the new King Richard II, having stabilized his power, intended to reestablish his control over Vinland.
At first he deals with Venice. The city realizes that its possessions in Vinland are costing it more than they bring in. And Venice does not want to invest in distant possessions, trade is more important.
In 1389 Venice therefore ceded all its Vinland possessions to the King of England in exchange for a large sum of silver which came from the tribute paid by Texcoco. Venice, however, retains the right to trade freely.
The east of Cubao returns to Nouvanjou and the Canaries are sold to Castile.
In 1393 Prince Jean I of Texcoco died. His son Jean II (32 years old) is disputed by the colonists who would like to take the fiefdoms of the last Indian lords. But the prince can rely on a faithful administration provided by Normandite.
In December 1394, settlers supported by English agents staged a coup and assassinated Normandians ministers as well as Indian notables.

Jean II defeated must abdicate and leaves Vinland with his mother and family for England.
The Indian elite is liquidated and the big settlers share the country. The silver mines go to the king.
In 1396 Texcoco, Izabal and Mayapan are united in the kingdom of New England which takes Texcoco as its capital.
The Normandite knows that it is next on the list and is preparing its counterattack.
