What if the colonization of Vinland had succeeded?
Here is that story!

In 1356 King Edward III proceeded to a new division of Vinland with the three baronies in exchange for territorial concessions.

Normandite retains the islands of Providence and Port Riche. It also preserves the Marianne, north coast of Southern Vinland – then poorly known.  Later, in 1366, Nouvanjou and Normandite came together. Thus the daughter of Jean I of Normandite (1338-1365-1381), Marie (1360-1429), is promised to the son of Edouard II de Nouvanjou (1326-1355-1378), Edouard (1351-1404). In dowry is brought the Venisiane.

The Kebec gets the entire Mississippi/Royal River basin. An immense and deserted territory which will take a long time to populate.

The English crown recovers the Royal Island, the Caribbean, the Peninsula of the Dragons, Orinoquia (and all the lands of Southern Vinland beyond), the Basses Islands, Izabal with a defined border with Texcoco. Texcoco which receives all the territories up to the limits of the Barony of Kebec.

Based on this division, explorers go in search of either a large and easily subjugated population or precious metals. In fact the mines discovered were already known to the natives who practiced metallurgy.

Note that Venice is excluded from this division but nevertheless holds several territories starting with the Kingdom of Mayapan.
