1332-1350: the assault on the Indies

In November 1332 the barony of Nouvanjou settled in Cubao by founding Saint Marc des Indes.

The Venetians followed in 1333 with more considerable resources than Nouvanjou. However, the Venetians only founded trading posts. There is no question of any conquest.

Even so, in 6 months more gold is accumulated than in all of Vinland's previous history.

The Venetians will try to monopolize the trade and push aside their competitor. In 1342 they opened the Tropical Route which passes through the Canary Islands where a base was founded in 1344.

To obtain the support of Normandite, the Baron de Nouvanjou cedes the islands to the east of Cubao.
In 1334 the Normandite settled on the island of Ayiti. Significant gold mines are discovered and the island is renamed Providence. In 1342 the Normandite settles on the island of Port Riche and extracts gold there again. A total of 40 T of gold will be extracted from these two islands.
In 1350 the Normandite settles in Beauport. It is to mark the western limit of the territory it claims.

The barony of Kebec tries to explore the west of its territory. The expeditions get lost in the Rocky Mountains populated by poor and hostile natives.
The Kebec turned south and founded Kebec of India in 1343. But the inland route proved unprofitable.

The King of England reacted and founded St George of India in 1334 on difficult terrain.

In 1338 the English crown established around Lake Izabal and began to penetrate the Maya country from the south.

In the 1330s, European mercenaries led by a penniless but daring knight, Bertrand de Casteljaloux, put themselves at the service of the city of Texcoco. They allow the considerable increase of this one, changing forever the face of Mesovinland.
