Description

What if the colonization of Vinland had succeeded?
Here is that story!

-----------------------
Since 1241, Vinland has lived in relative stability.  The population is growing quite rapidly, more by natural growth than by immigration. In 60 years about 5000 settlers arrived: 500 Norse, 1500 English, 2000 French and 1000 others (Spanish and even German). This is the result of the opening of the southern route. Many settlers go to Normandite, which seems more welcoming than Kebec or the Insular Vinland. The contribution of natives becomes negligible, slavery almost disappears and the Church tends to have it prohibited.

The saturation of land allows the mixing of communities. There is thus a clear separation between the different communities: Norman, Norse and English. Assimilation is almost total for the Norse against the English and the Normans depending on where they are. Except in West Vinland and Markland/Gaspeg which are reserved for them.

In 1300 Vinland had 265,800 inhabitants.Of which 98,800 (37%) under direct royal control. And 167,000 in the 3 baronies. 33% are Norman, 33% English, 8% Norse and 26% Métis.

Two cities are the main commercial ports to Europe: Hartoft (6300 inhab.) and St Pierre (6200 inhab.). But Kebec is the 1st city of Vinland with 7500 inhabitants. It is low compared to London (80,000 inhab.) or Paris (160,000 inhab.) but sufficient to generate the beginning of urban life.
