What if the colonization of Vinland had succeeded?
Here is that story!

Vinland was entrusted to Robert de Beuvron (1079-1152), a young 30-year-old monk who was to establish an abbey there. He embarked at Barfleur with 120 couples of Norman serfs, 40 soldiers and 5 monks, making a total of 405 out of 10 ships – one of the ships was lost during the trip, causing the death of 39 people.

At that time, the colony of Vinland had 2,527 inhabitants, of which 25% English, 23% Norse, 37% metis and 15% natives (often slaves). The English consider themselves masters and annoy others.

Abbot Robert arrives with Franco-Norman serfs. Its goal is to create a French-speaking colony by following the adage "divide and conquer". On August 15, 1109, he founded St Laurent Abbey on the eastern shore of the bay, opposite Hartoft.

Robert manages to dismiss the entire Svenson family except Leofwine Svenson (1085-1143). Leofwine is the son of Wulfnoth Svenson and Abequa (1067-1093), daughter of an Algonquin chief Chogan (1041-1110).  Léofwine must then go into exile in Kebec beside his grandfather Algonquin with his supporters, 150 people especially metis and Norse.  When the Kebec counter closed in September 1109, he occupied the premises and proclaimed himself Baron of Kebec. But everyone calls him the metis king.
