Rebellion
A cataclysmic clash Of forces mighty And those small, Yet strong of heart. The winds of a mining town Blow through the corridors, Gale of the world blasting Round to the tip Of a southernmost Forlorn islet Where hope seems lost, Yet there is always a way. Sailing ships High in the skies As the sunset and breeze Cloak us in a moment Of much-needed respite. Our hope in each other A faith that our bonds Shall release us from A realm so dark, A world so bleak. Sunshine comes not From that tower’s rays. Magic and armor, And a song from her lips, Burst forth into a new day With comrades at my side.

Chase Away
Along the coast, Tracing the way … Chasing the ghost To live another day. A strained and simple beauty, A rose without a thorn. Educated to cause and duty, Long since the tassel was worn. Featured in an hourglass, And I cannot name the season. Forever sauntering, and they pass Without a single affable reason. And there it goes Without statement, Undeniably, it shows … Waving grass, pools of cement. And every ounce of the way, The wind, the waves, sun, and sand Bring a carefree essence to my days … Freedom from worry, cleaved to this land. And futures come and people go, I never smiled long enough To allow it to be so

A little agitated With the words Lent, but abated, Fear until we cross swords. Felt an agony Beyond defeat, A forbidden misery Aching to retreat. Put myself to sleep And forget the day Until I cross that ocean deep, Lose my soul along the way. Fear if I creep into your mind You will slip back into your cage, Accept things as they are, and find Your gilded bars become shelter as you age. Just let me turn another page, Face your kiss today, Another for your wrath and rage – Fear resistance and no other way. I know you Through poetry, Broken glass, a solid clue, And the wind on a blustery sea. I failed to see the reason To catch you All lost and out of season, But I try, succeed, always do. I lost you in the moment A heart tears itself in two. A feverish romance, unkempt, And we both said adieu. Lost but not forgotten, It still tingles through my veins. Long past the time I fell in, And you held all the reigns. A normal way of holding on, Staying close For far too long, a sun that shone, Dimming, so morose. A guilty, fading, heartless stance Is all I know to give this memory, Since it has no fighting chance … Slink away to avoid the p

Dancing Blades
A mighty clash of metal Resounds from the hills As two dark figures Battle for their lives. A side of me, A side of you, Fighting for all That is wrong or right. As though the whole world Were ashamed of me, And I fail to win this round … A course goes to you, out of bounds. Fear shall not keep me From trying to do What is right … The swords clank again. Pinned to the ground, You whimper softly As you know who has The upper hand. Who can possibly win? This bout is mine, that yours. I know deep in your heart You cannot possibly see me as your enemy. Cannot pretend It never crossed my mind That those calm eyes Could be my comfort. Knowing my secrets That I cannot reveal But never bear to keep … I lose my appetite and much sleep. You could bring such Peace to my world, But I do not deserve Your quiet self-control and innocence. Pushing to the edge Where you stand so silently … Wish I could bring myself To reach out for your hand. You could never know how much I admire you and your reserve. If only I could want something That could ever be permanent. A spinning cycle Of refuse, A second more For all my conjecture. Cannot be the one to save me, And make you anything less

The cracks in the sidewalk Led me to a sacred place In the back of my mind Where old thoughts reside. A gentle glow From a time not so Long ago, When I still made you smile. All that is gone, And now I know I expected too much From fragile grounds. Present times have shown me, We cannot look to another And presume that person To be better than we can ourselves be. Stressful times Brought out the worst in me, And no one deserves That all the time. No longer the holder Of my heart, You are released from the burden I always was to you. No anger in my thoughts, No contempt in my heart. Please, just let this be, And enjoy a life free &helli

The wind came down From the mountains Up high, Swooping to gather me along. It rose and fell With each rising hill, The valleys Cupping each fall. I swooned as I chanced Upon the sight, My life … Would it forever change? All I know Is that at this moment, Hell’s fury might just Envy this … Could the Gates of Heaven Slam shut to my soul To know What my heart fears most? My roaming soul Could find a chance At a good life, A simple, humble one. Yet when I strode along And embraced the vortex, Only I could find tenderness In its chaotic grip. I cannot break my own heart This way, and I can no longer stand alone. I brace

Somebody Else Got Tagged, I'm Just Borrowing
1. Are you guilty of telling bad puns or "dad jokes"?   Sometimes. 2. What do you find most appealing in a celebrity/musician/artist?    Their style, their voice, their drive and how they speak to me on a whole other level. 3. Would you rather go to space or the ocean floor?    Either way, I hyperventilate a little at the thought of any chance of going without oxygen.  Maybe space?  Although I do love the ocean, but the creatures are a little scarier there. 4. If you knew you were going to die in 7 days, who/what would you worry most about?   People I let down.  Chances I didn't take. Not finishing my novels. 5. When you doodle, w
