Famous logos in Javanese script by Alteaven Famous logos in Javanese script by Alteaven
(maaf gambar digonta-ganti, hehe)

Many famous brands uses a latin-based logotype. However, in countries in which latin alphabet is uncommon, the logo would sometimes be remade in the local script. Mind you,  transliterating the brand's name into a different script while retaining their characteristics in the original alphabet is quite a difficult task. Fine example of this transliteration practice can be found in the logos of Coca Cola, Carslberg and Fanta (see www.atissuejournal.com/2011/11…holmartinhons.blogspot.com/201….

The task's difficulty is even more pronounced in the Javanese script. Each letter in the script tends to have a horizontal orientation compared to latin, therefore, a short phrase in latin may become awkwardly long in Javanese. There are also certain aspects such as limited variety of shapes or consonant stacking which made them look completely different from their original counterpart.Still, it was pretty fun working on these.
