James Roday - Psychic

Pineapple anyone? It's James Roday as Shawn Spencer from the television show "Psych"! Psych is one of my all time favorite shows, James Roday & Dulé Hill were always in my list of portraits to do, so I've finally did one of James. Dulé will soon follow, however I just need to find a good reference of him to use first.

For the reference of James, I chose the Season 5 poster. I really like the poster, however I could only find a mediocre quality version of it, so zooming into James' face made the quality even worst. It was definitely hard to do this portrait because of the low quality reference I was using. I had to use a few different number of high quality references of James. I used one to base his eyebrows on especially since it's quite light. One for a guide on his hair. And another for his stubble entirely. I even used my own hands for some guide for James' hands in the portrait.

All in all, the portrait eventually turned out great. I took my time with this one, I started right after my previous, but did everything slowly, so it took me a week to finish.
