The zerg aqualisk. An idea I got on Blizzforums's starcraft 2 section; water unit designs. Whereas one member got theidea of an octopuslike Zerg unit. I got the idea of the looks at once and decided to draw it. This is the outcome.
Here is its stats:
Name: Aqualisk
Cost: 250 min, 75 gas, 60 time.
Supply: 3
Size: Large
Armor: 2
Attack: 1 (+1 each upgrade) (little, no, not with its cooldown rate)
Attack type: Normal
Cooldown: 2
Built at: Hydrohatch
Targets: Water
Range: 1
Sight: 8
Speed: About the speed of a marine?
Notes: Biological
It uses those large spikes on the arms to grab a large ship to then smash it with its 4 spiked tentacles (which you cant see in this image) The other 6 of the tentacles it uses to swim (here you see at least 3).
Or we could go for the option that it grabs the thing it attacks with its tentacles (then all are those swimmer tentacle thingies) and just attack with its large claws, the it would pretty much make it an underwater ultralisk with the ability to keep the enemy in control by immobilizing it with the tentacles.
Think it was small sized units it just lasted of with its tentacles.
Medium sized it grabbed them, making the unit immobile.
While lrge units it grabbed them, but the unit could move.

Name: Aqualisk
Cost: 150 min, 100 gas, 40 time. (About the same as a mutalisk)
Supply: 3
Size: Large
Armor: 2 (Ultralisk armor? I like)
Attack: 10 (+2 each upgrade) (little, no, not with its cooldown rate) (The Damage of a hydralisk, with an ultralisk upgrade. This sounds like a water ultralisk
)
Attack type: Melee
Cooldown: 1 (One attack every second, Zerglings do two attacks every second with speed ugprade)
Built at: Hydrohatch
Targets: Water
Range: 2 (Tentacles?)
Sight: 8
Speed: About the speed of a marine? (On stim. Its in water)

Interesting idea. That'd be great if there were water type units, but that would seem a bit primitive considering the new engineering that's going into the SC II game as units can probably move through water, thus not needing a water type unit.
Yet, this is a very well done piece and I really like it. ^_^

Awesome work!
There's a Starcraft art competition to win copies of Starcraft II at [link] (www.starcraftblogger.com/messageboard)
Just thought you might be interested. You can submit as many different pieces of artwork as you want. And there's plenty of different categories (pencil art, photoshop, 3d graphics etc.) of competition that you can win in.
Cheers,
Roger.
