Hi folks,

So since I've been able to connect with the world again for a change, I've taken the opportunity to upload my 2018 Reel that I've been working on for several weeks. It is a compilation of work I've done over the years and am using this as my main tool now to scout for a 3D Artist full-time job locally here.

If you are interested you can head on over to the link below, 1080p is suggested, especially for the wireframe (animations).

Hope you guys like it, and enjoy! :)

Ah thank you my friend, good to hear from you again as well. :)

At the moment however, I'm unemployed, been job hunting for several months now.

haha, thank you for having so much faith in me. :P It is mostly to blame on the location where I'm based more than anything else at this point, most here barely understand graphic design, and that there is actually more to graphics than just printing...

Either way, I'm not planning on giving up any time soon though. :)

Love the work you do, great work on Optimus (Transformer fan myself), always inspirational to see artists that far and beyond the normal limits of the imagination.

Well, Ettienne, I was part of a truly talented team of craftsmen. A unique opportunity. Pushing the boundaries is always fun. Especially when the outcome is so rewarding!

Hi there,

Best would be to be willing to learn as much as you can, decide which application you wish to use, and learn everything you can about it. Always be open to feedback, and if you want to create realistic 3D Images, take notes from real life. How lighting looks in the real world. Use references, do not stick to one subject only, like characters, or vehicles, do various different subjects, the only way one will improve, is if you do something different often. 3D has a wide variety of fields in which you can specialize, but they all work together.

Above all, experiment. Many designers in general are to scared to experiment, whether it be with, new settings or things like particles systems, materials, textures, post process effects, it doesn't matter, be willing to experiment, explore the 3D world as well as the application you're planning on using. Tutorials can teach you basics, but creativity is something that cannot be taught. Lastly, best way to improve your 3D skills is to observe folks who are better at designing and rendering, take note of compositions, layouts of scenes, camera angles, lighting, light effects, and post-effects.

If you feel you're not satisfied with your end results on a rendered image, do not stay stuck too long on it. We make tons of drafts before we actually making anything decent, I prefer to not share work in progress works, only final images, as those will reflect for the most part what you are capable of doing.

Above all, no matter if models are sculpted, low poly, or high poly, keep your models clean, design as much as you can with quads, try to avoid using too many triangles, it makes your models look dirty and un-professional, in the end keeping a model clean makes it easier for you to manage the model if you want to do edits afterwards.

Hope this helps, the rest is all up to experimenting, exploring and learning. :)

Hi, I saw on the blenderguru your Ford Fiesta Zetec render XS SuperCar 2013. I wanted to ask how to make a wireframe render? Do you have a tutorial for this?

Hi PietruH,

Unfortunately not, there isn't any decent way to render wireframe mode, but the best I would be able to do for you is direct you to a tutorial that uses blender internal to render the wireframe mode. Hope it helps.

Thank you! :happybounce:  One more question: you rendered in cycles or blender render?

I use blender internal to render the wireframes, as cycles doesn't have a practical and effective way of rendering solid wireframe renders.

Excellent works here in your gallery. Your cars are really top notch (but fully rigging a character is not a small feat either). I'm sure you'll keep up the good work, so I'll be watching.

And yeah, it's always nice to see some quality work done with Blender :) Do you actually make some money with 3D or are you a full hobbyist?
