Me and my GT Zaskar MK-2 by alphaleo14 Me and my GT Zaskar MK-2 by alphaleo14
I finally retired my old faithful GT Zaskar Team alphaleo14.deviantart.com/art/… after 14 years of good time. As for my new ride, a newer GT Zaskar team constructed from Carbon fiber, which is 400 grams lighter than my previous aluminium ver. I got the frame from ebay for a reasonable price in 2013, but only in late 2014 to 2015 I started collecting parts from various online vendors. The complete bike rolled out from the bike shop 4 days before Christmas.

The bike is diffidently lighter compare to it's previous incarnation but still not light enough for me,  I blame the weight on the old wheels and the heavier Fox F-series fork, for now it's around 22 pounds now which did not meet my 20 pounds targeted weight. Asides from the Weight issue, the bike was a great ride, and a great climber, thanks to slick Shimano XTR 980 3x10 components, Simpler Mechanical Avid BB-7 disc brakes, carbon fiber truvativ seatpost and handlebar and lastly my favorite iconic Onza Bar ends, I still salvage back some old parts like the saddle, grip, brake lever, cycling computer and the wheel set, those components still have plenty of millage to go.

Another thing that I just found out, I haven't been doing any art nor and painting since my Balto fan art.

That bike looks sweet, man. I've been riding a second-hand MTB which is a little bit too short for my arm length, but something I can get on a limited budget. Makes me want to switch my ride.

It ride and climb great! I also have size issue, for 2 years i am worrying that the frame might to too large for me (i was collecting parts during that time) but after have the bike assembled it fits ok for me, comfortable for my size, sometimes u just have to ride it to feel it.

Regarding your sizing issue, u might want to get a longer stem or mybe you need to adjust your saddle more back to fit your riding style, i bet the bike shop can give some advice on that. Upgrading the handle bars and stems are the more affortable upgrades. Get your bike shope to recomment.

Yeah I figure I'm gonna do that soon. Better to always get advice from more experienced people. Oh and thanks for the saddle tip, never thought of that. It's a lot cheaper than a new frame or a new bike entirely!

I'm not so concerned about off-roading at the moment because I mostly use my ride for to cycle to work, hence mostly road use. But a little flexibility is good, too.

Hope you get lots of joyful and meaning hours with your new friend! Seriously, it looks awesome.

The saddle adjustment depends also on your seat post, some seatpost have off set adjustment allowing u to adjust your saddle more backward, for mine is called zero off set which means my saddle are limited only by the saddle rail adjustment, somehow it works due to my longer frame top tube. I have a medium lenght stem to go it.

Would like to see your bike, kinda curious what is your ride

indeed was a busy year, workwise i am working hard supervising a french series called www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxlW_z… currently working on season 2, i wonder did u seen this in spain as i have heard currently they are showing the series mostly on the European region. Not in US or asian region yet, i hope it will make it big.

The bike handles great, far lighter compare to my previous one but still not light enough for a weight weenie like me.
