Halcyon Gleam Concept

This is the OC I've been working on, Halcyon Gleam--my love, my prize, my heart. She's a crystal pony with an obnoxiously kind and giving soul, but don't let that motivate you into thinking she's weak.

I'm still working out her past and what made her the pony she is in the present, but I'm already very very excited about the plans I have for her. Halcyon is a traveling merchant, spending most of the warm months on the road, selling gemstones imbued with extraordinarily powerful protection spells. These are especially sought after by those who face great dangers or travel the perilous parts of the world. During her downtime, she settles down somewhere she can afford for the wintry months. During those times, she spends her time procuring new gemstones to enchant, be it by buying them from gem-cutters, or finding them on her own.

Halcyon Gleam is incredible laid-back, a trait that can be attributed to her extensive journeying and meeting more individuals than she could hope to recall. Each encounter taught her something, as Halcyon is not one to ignore an opportunity to learn and grow as a pony. She quickly learned to see the good in those around her, though she's also very aware of the limits of her own patience and understanding. Those who've met Halcyon Gleam before regard her mostly with respect, though she's seen as naive, and most don't have the heart to try and take advantage of the kindness she affords them.

That's as much as I'm willing to share at the minute! In the meantime, I swear I will finally, finally finish fleshing out my brand-new commission sheet. Reference sheets like this will definitely be an option (though much cleaner of course). Anyway, that's it for now! Have a nice day or night!
