downside of the upside by alltelleringet downside of the upside by alltelleringet
Inspired by Escher, this is the first photo in the project: "Twisting angles". Which consists of 3 photos, but the other two are still just sketches.

Let me know what you think about it, and if you see some things that could be improved.

Great. The foreground railing might fade away or disappear behind the bridge column; the cut off seems abrupt.

The best OP art I've ever laid my eyes on. This is amazing!

All the effort is pointless if you don't believe in yourself.

Wow. This honestly blew my mind at first. Trying to figure out these perspectives would drive me insane… and you could put very interesting concepts to this. Nice

very cool, but i think that the railing in the lower shot should continue and just fade out or continue to the support at the bottom of the bridge.

Your very talented. I'm impressed by point your point of view shots and interesting concepts. Every picture you create defies the laws of perspective and yet the viewer can't quite figure out what's wrong because it looks flawless.

I was curious if you have any tips for an aspiring artist such as myself, who is trying to develop an interesting perspective on the world. I realize my DA portfolio isn't much, but do you have any general advice.

Trying by learning has worked very well for me I think, make sketches of every good idea you come up with. Let them rest for a while and if you still think that it's a good idea a few days later it may be worth trying out.

...weird imagination is a plus (:
Loper42 Featured By Owner Apr 19, 2010
That's a great idea. It makes sense that the best ideas our there are carefully thought out and examined. I will definitely give your suggestion a try. First, I have to start writing them down, because one moment their in my head and the next, I can't remember my idea.

Just so you know, your one of my favorite Photo-Manipulation artists on DA. So, thank you so much for the great advice. And keep up the amazing work! Your work is refreshing and thought-provoking and I just love it! Great job!

Hah this is amazing! I always loved the mathematical drawings of these angles, but never thought of adapting photography to them... great idea and realisation! :)
LisaGorska Featured By Owner Feb 11, 2010
wonderful. :)
since you asked for proposals for improvement, i'd advice you to make the end of the fence as if a car rand through it or something like that, as if something passed through it in high speed and crashed somewhere under the bridge (and that might turn out to be what the upper guy's looking at ;P ); it would add dynamics and a deeper story to the picture.
also, maybe you need to work a bit more on the perspective, it seems off in some places.

but overall, good work, what you're doing - not just this picture, all of them - is quite hard and you're doing quite good!
