going on a Rempage by AlloyRabbit

A remake of that pic there. I started this late last year and finished it early this one. owo  it was pretty fun to do, though it ended up being a lot more time consuming than i expected. >.>

I had a ton of fun with the lighting and effects in this one. owo

it was originally going to be my 777th deviation, but it just took too long. >.>

I love the physics here--the train crumpling and buckling under Rem's stomp (bunching up as if it was in motion just before it got crushed); the way the building in her hands gets dragged down by her momentum, really sells Rem's size and dynamic motion.

She's not just standing there stomping stuff, she's jumping into town and dragging unfortunate tiny residents along with her! (Like the cars desperately avoiding her stomping feet down below!)

And all those explosions...Micheal Bay would be proud!

Not sure if I should be enthralled or terrified... I'll stick with 'curious'... yeah, sounds about right.
One thing I absolutely love about stuff like this is the contrast between the utter devastation of the landscape and the giant girl having a blast doing so, and this art right here captures both sides perfectly. I luv it :D

Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go back to watching this glorious Rempage... from a safe distance, of course.

Ok, I'm making this comment right here and now, no copy/paste, just words of amazement.

So uh, WOW! I've been waiting the entire week for this picture right here. I knew it was going to be amazing, but seeing it now is even more amazing then I was expecting. I can only imagine just how long each step took in addition to all the stream work you did.

You've always been good at lighting but it shines (no pun intended) even more here! The headlights on Rem's shoe, the fire from the train and cars, the bus headlights on Rem's face as well as the lighting on Rem's body/clothes and everything else shaded so dark makes this look like a scene from a giant monster movie (which should really be made, by the way, by/with Rem). It's all perfect! You even put blue sparking in the breaking bridge!

The pose with Rem clotheslining the building while still crushing the cars and train and mangling the bus is about the ultimate in multitasking. But you put so much work into the details and realism that I think this is definitely one of your best works and worthy of being your new Featured!

I know I'm just rambling, but thank you so much for going all out with something like this! I know it takes longer then you like and it's not sketchy, but I truly appreciate the work you put into these when you want to. It may not've been 777 (but it was 781, still a good number XD) but it is a wonderful addition to all the full colored art you've been doing the last few weeks or so. Definitely your best so far!! I'll be looking forward to you attempting to top this one someday owo Thank you so much for this epic picture! It's the best of the three versions of this picture over the last 5 years or so ^.^

You have firmly cemented Rem as one of my favorite characters. While it didn't end up getting the 777, I still think that this is definitely a worthy choice for the featured pic.

And once again, Alloy shows off his lighting abilities. It really brings life to the picture, good work!

And seeing Rem just happily crushing things is both silly and cute, hahaha.

Here it is! After many weeks in the making, you finally finished this masterpiece! While you didn't do the lineart on-stream, I recall you mentioning how long the lineart alone took you, and then two streams worth of doing the colors... this is probably the most effort you've ever put into a single picture, thinking about it. Not even that crazy Recettear pic had as much time devoted to it, plus it's of Rem, one of your own OCs. You've got all of the normal destructive attractions in this with building, car, bus AND train smashing! What a journey it took to get here too, what with the original WIP version of this from ages ago followed by the proper redoing of it that's been sitting as your featured for quite some time now, and finally this even more incredible version! It's amazing what you can get out of an old WIP picture that was standard enough, huh?

The linework's great. It may not have the touch of your new brush from the year's turn (YOU'RE JUST TSUNDERE FOR IT OKAY), but you spent an extremely long time on it to get it just right and proper. Considering your lightning quick linework usually ends up great, of course if you put your all into it, it'll end up fantastic! It's all really solid and well defined, and makes for a nice feel of a completed and refined digital piece. Every small detail's wonderfully represented, and your details are always the best! The building breaking apart, the multiple bits of crunchery below, the -incredible- sense of motion going on with Rem's flowing clothes and hair (You're seriously impeccable with clothing and hair, you do them the best of any artist I know of, even out of the pros!) If I had any complaint to make it'd solely be the head shaping, but honestly that one can be chalked up to anime'd heads looking awkward when hair is removed from the equation. You worked really well with what you had, there. And the pose too! The clothes' sense of motion is only possible thanks to it, it's smooth and flows well (And leads to much destruction, too!).

The primary eye-catching thing though, is the fucking stupendous shading job! I went on and on and on about how your Recettear picture was done so impressively in that department, and now you have THIS done so shortly afterwards! It's like every time I mention you having made a big leap from the past and continue to improve in the most surprising of ways you go and do it again! Every bit of light has its own effect on the shading, with Rem's body having multiple light sources reflected on it. You've got some awesome transitions from light to dark shades going on here, you really took HG and I's advice to heart ;w;. I'm almost glad this got delayed a bit, you used everything you've learned recently and poured it all into such a spectacular picture. Gotta love the nice firey crunch aftereffects too, for as nonsensical as they are they work fantastic as highlights to draw attention to some of the critical points of the piece (Those being, of course, the flattening of cars). Speaking of, that shattered glass coming off of the crumpling building is represented fabulously too! It's got multiple nice big clouds of debris flying all over with the multiple particles all present. So much detail, man!

Keep up the incredible work, each full showing of your finely honed skills blows me (and everyone else, presumably!) away. Thanks for keeping up the habit of your streams too, watching the magic happen is one of my favorite things and continues to make every week (Even on the missed weeks which are super duper rare because you end up making up for them, hahahaha) of mine special. In addition, thanks for an even more amazing than usual stream! This one really had winner after winner in it, you've got some crazy cute stuff going as of late. I can't even begin to express how much your streams and pictures matter to me, even with my huge walls of text and other such things. So... see you next time! ;w;
