I was watching you as you stood there,
Staring out across the horizon,
You always told me that you were alone,
That you never seemed to fit,
Everywhere you went,
You said things turned out for the worst,
And you just didnt care any more.
I remember when I first met you,
There was something in those eyes of yours,
Telling me that you wanted forget,
I knew that you needed me,
And you knew it too,
You couldnt fight the darkness,
Without someone there to lead you out.
It took you so long to let it go,
And we both knew you didnt trust me,
You thought Id run away like the others,
You couldnt bear
I was walking down an empty street,
The sky was dark as slate,
I turned the corner towards the pier,
And before me stood a gate.
I had no idea where it came from,
It wasn't there before,
Curious, I headed towards it,
As you would do I'm sure,
From down the road came the strangest noise,
I think it was a song,
Not exactly in tune I'll admit,
But I just carried on,
I found myself at some sort of dock,
Not one I've ever seen,
To me it looked like a sailor's crew,
I wondered where they'd been,
They caught sight of me and turned around,
Shot me a toothless grin,
They called me over to meet them all,
Yelled out to their capta
Ain't gonna bring me down. by Alliansa, literature

Ain't gonna bring me down.
You can pick me up,
Drag me round the block,
But you ain't gonna bring me down.
You can scream and shout,
Take what's mine not yours,
But you ain't gonna bring me down.
You can build me up,
And make walls around me,
But you ain't gonna bring me down.
You can tell me lies,
Say you're someone that you're not,
But you ain't gonna bring me down.
You can light fires around me,
Throw me out into a storm,
But you ain't gonna bring me down.
You can make me believe,
In something that's not there,
But you ain't gonna bring me down.
You can cuss and yell,
You can try to knock me out,
But you ain't gonna bring me down.

Here we go again.
Walk down the street,
Run across the road,
Try not to miss the bus,
Head on to school, 'nother workload
Here we go again
Physics lesson one,
German lesson two,
No time to spare for talking,
Got some things to do
Here we go again,
Weaving through the corridor,
Have to beat the bell,
So many people nearby,
Summer time is hell
Here we go again
Up to floor three,
Down to floor one,
Tiredness is overwhelming,
Got to keep moving on
Here we go again
Mad rush to the door
Tripping over people's feet,
Dodging books and bags,
Got some people I need to meet
Here we go again
Get home and dump your things
Yes I
I look at you,
And you see right through me.
I smile at you,
And you pretend I'm not there.
I cry for you,
And you look straight past me.
I pray for you,
And you refuse to care.
I kill for you,
But you don't know my name.
I die for you,
And finally you notice.
What can I say?
About the way I feel about you.
You pick me up when I'm down,
You make me laugh when I'm upset,
You let me cry when I need to.
What can I say?
I've known you for so long,
The only permanent thing in my life.
We've been through it all,
And we still come out on top.
What can I say?
I owe you so much.
You've saved my life,
In more ways than one.
Thank you doesn't cut it.
What can I say?
You're my rock and my shield.
You keep me out of harms way,
But let me learn from my mistakes.
My teacher and my colleague.
What can I say?
I couldn't live without you.
You let me stand on my own two feet,
You let me go when
Forgive me for not seeing the point.
Of always cheating and lying,
All the backstabbing and crying,
Hating people you don't disappoint.
Forgive me for wondering what's up,
Why there's murders each day,
Why people always stay away,
How come others want me to trip up.
Forgive me for wondering how,
People don't say things to your face,
Like they think you're a nut case,
But played nice right up until now.
Forgive me for wondering why,
Society is messed up,
Why things stay shut up,
How come some people don't seem to try.
Forgive me for being just plain me,
Acting the same at home,
As I do when I'm not alone,
Why's it something
Hey you, shut up, and listen to me.

A kid was born with her finger to the crown.
Husband number one, dad to my sister and me,
Best guy around, it was easy to see.
We lived with him until I was four,
But dragged to Chicago, I didn't see him anymore.
Daddy number two, basketball all-star
Direct hits whether near or far.
Lost his job, poor old guy,
Whisked off, no time for goodbye.
Next stop New Jersey, Maine, New Orleans,
Desire got old, off to Toronto, NYC.
Settled in Pittsburg with pop number three,
Wasn't there long, didn't much like me.

As you think about this life,
And what it has in store,
I'll be the world that waits for you,
Just outside the door.
As you are walking down the street,
Looking at the floor,
I'll be the people you didn't greet,
The child that you ignored.
When you come home from work,
And think that you must hide,
I'll be that voice you're looking for,
That says, 'At least you tried.'
Watch the birds that fly up high,
And watch the rain that falls,
I'll be that nagging voice in you,
That cries, 'You must stand tall.'
When you think that all is lost,
And debate if it is true,
I'll be the hope you think is gone
Just look inside of you…
Angel, are you listening?
While momma cries in her room again,
She had an argument with my brother,
And now daddy's trying to calm them down.
Angel, are you listening?
Miss said she was proud of me today,
I did really well on my spelling test,
And she gave me a shiny gold star.
Angel, are you listening?
My kitty ran away this morning,
Will I ever see her again?
Are you watching her from up there?
Angel, are you listening?
I made a new friend at break time,
We get on really well, she has an angel all her own,
Is it you?
Angel, are you listening?
Is my friend gonna be ok?
We were playing in the park earlier,
And a big red van

I know this isn't exactly a popular page or anything, but I'm sick of looking at the past, so I'm moving to a new account, which will be photographs and literature, my art's not really up to scratch (no, I'm not looking for pity or anything, it's just true) so I'll see you there, the few people who actually find this little corner. Here I am:
