DarkTheme-work

Working on the dark theme I removed and much thanks to FbEye for helping me recovering this.

Some work need to be done as it's still impossible to read the tabs and Safari and Mail are still behaving badly with this approach.. I might approach things differently with the next step. I just needed to get a handle on things - Luckily things are somewhat the same in current CAR files as with El Capitan.

Next step could be following jatcube and the way his theme is set up. Time and experience will guide me.

Sierra 10.12.4 - Retina graphics.

Nice to see someone tinkering! Although, when you strip the color out the MacOS looks like Ubuntu...
So the next question is - can we draw outside the lines, (yet) or is the only work changing the color of the gradients?

There's a mask for both states of Finder windows - active and inactive that should allow for more outside the lines work. My work with masks usually fail because I can't grasp the concept of margins in the said masks or window graphic.

I asked David Lanham if I could try and make Somatic for macOS Sierra(I think I said that I would do it and not just try - silly of me, considering the nature of theming on macOS)

Wow that looks amazing. I have a question. How did you manage to get the menu bar black? Is there a way to modify it's color in systemapperance.car?

Hi, thanks for the comment.

The black menubar is a setting in System Preferences -> General -> a checkbox that says "Use dark menu bar and Dock"

It's really difficult coloring the menu bar permanently but the application from Manytricks.com called Menu Bar Tint could give you something manytricks.com/menubartint/

If you do find a way to color the menu bar in macOS - do let me know. So far me and many other have not found a way. Even the author of cDock haven't found a way - or if he has, he's not telling.

I have found a way since 4 month ago and I've been using it to color my menu bar black since. It's an application. It basically puts a solid bar behind your menu bar so the transparency of OSX can pick it up and the bar will look solid depending on the color you want. However this app is sort of not updated. If you have the dock on the right or left side it will work. However if you have it on the bottom it won't work properly unless you hide your dock. I have found a fix for this however but it requires long explanation and to download some files and a software. Anyways if you want the app it' called "Tint'. It's available in the app store for around 5-6$ I believe. I'm still searching for a way to color it permanently without using hacky apps. But for now it's working amazing. I'll include a preview so I can show you.
