It's inhuman and separates art from the human artist that made it by forcing us to become some kind of simulation of a person—transactional in nature. That said, respect peoples' wishes about their art. And mine are: just use it for whatever (Commercial is fine). As long as you aren't distributing it in such a way to get around the fact that my art is free for anyone to modify and use, it's fine (Share-Alike). You don't have to ask permission to use art we've created (Attribution). I'm not going to treat working-class individuals like thieves or like they're sketchy just cause they saw something cool and wanted to use it. I am flattered actually. Personally, I believe in the collaborative human spirit. 75%+ of my art wouldn't even be possible without the workers at Bandai who get paid
