My Bio
I graduated from Arizona State University in Tempe in December 2010 with a BFA in Intermedia Art and a minor in Japanese. I love drawing and painting in every medium I can get ahold of, including everything from painting on the surface of ceramics and wood to using computer programs like Photoshop or Painter in order to express myself in an abstract-narrative sort of way. My work is mainly 2-D, but I hope to improve my ceramics skills one day enough to make sculptures.
In the future I hope to accomplish many things. I want to become fluent in both Japanese and Chinese (and Korean if I can!), write/illustrate several graphic novels, and teach/study abroad in any of the aforementioned countries.

Hey, its been too long since I last came here, but a lot has happened. I recently moved to Oita city in southern Japan and got a job here teaching English at a private study school. Its been pretty nice so far, and i'm enjoying doing simple things like walking around the area and sitting down to a steamy bowl of udon. My students are fantastic, and range in ages from 4 to 80 (and just so you know, all the rumors are true: Japanese children are indescribably adorable). I do miss my family and my boyfriend, but I'm looking forward to them coming out to visit me, and reconnecting over some okonomiyaki. : )

Well, now that I've graduated, I feel like I should be a bit more professional, even here on DA. Therefore, I've decided to upload my artist's statement. You don't have to enjoy it, but, well, you have the option. :)More than anything, I find that my artwork is inspired by my childhood. Having grown up in a sheltered environment and in the middle the big city of Phoenix, I found that my greatest asset was my imagination. I would spend hours playing with my sister in the back yard, and with that simple backdrop, we invented countless numbers of roles and situations to keep ourselves occupied. I cant believe how quickly this month is passing. I just barely escaped from school, and now Christmas is next week! I still have tons of shopping left to do, but I'm sure everyone feels crazy right now...However, I have another reason to feel crazy besides the upcoming holidays. Next Saturday I'm leaving on a trip to Tokyo! I've been studying the language for what feels like forever, so I decided to spend New Years in Japan, practice speaking, and see my pen pals!
