The great king Mohatu!

The seventh king of the Pride Lands and firstborn to king Kgozi and queen Mahali, he was known to be one of the greatest, wisest and fairest rulers. His pride mates and subjects looked up to him and animals all over the land often came to him for advice or judgement. The king tried to help and resolve any issues to the best of his abilities, guided by the many wise advice of his late father.

Yet few knew that deep down he nestled a big bundle of unresolved issues and traumas which he unwillingly and unknowingly projected on others. The main victim of his projections and harsh treatment became his second grandson, Takasa, who later became known as Scar. Taka's genetics played a harsh joke on him, gifting him a look too similar to Mohatu's brother Fahari, or Selfish Lion, as he was called among his subjects.

Since his very birth little Taka was a walking reminder to Mohatu of what Fahari had done when they were barely young adults. An event that left his family devastated and showed everyone what true selfishness and cruelty looked like and led to Fahari's exile.

As much as he wanted, no matter what he said - Mohatu was never able to fully cope with the death of his younger siblings, thus becoming quite overprotective over his only daughter, Uru, and way too harsh to poor Taka, who throughout all his childhood up until the great king's demise questioned what he had done wrong to deserve such judgement.

Only on his deathbed did Mohatu finally realize the grave mistake he made but alas, it was too late. He never found out that his actions played a large part in the making of the monster Takasa eventually became.

Once again trying to get back to posting regularly! Fingers crossed it works this time Even though I don't see much reason for it, this place truly seems to be dying, but I miss activity and purpose for drawing, so here we go.

And as usual, don't judge the writing too harshly, please, I'm way out of practice :_)
