This is not a critique; this is a handful of opinions that aren't going to help the artist in any way. She's supposed to have glasses, she's obviously irritated because the batter went all over her, and the other pony is laughing because of that. The only part of this critique that can be considered constructive is the line about the big ears, and that's a factor that comes down to style.

Time for a little bit of critiquing, and since you asked for it, I'm ready to supply it! Let's get right to it, then!

Your vision seems to be realized just fine. You wanted to do a picture of Apple Bloom and Granny Smith loop-de-hooping, so you did! It gets the point across, and there's not much more to it than that. It's a fairly simple concept with decent execution, and I think you pulled it off.

The originality of the picture is pretty high, too. Although a similar pose was used in the show, you used different looking versions of the characters. While Apple Bloom doesn't look too different (And she shouldn't, really), it's different enough to make it unique. So, you get pretty high points for this category.

With this piece, I feel that the technique is the weakest point. Now, don't take that the wrong way! It looks good overall, but you could have done some things differently to make it shine. For example, the lines are a bit jagged at points, and not all of the same thickness. By getting them smoother and conformed to a size (depending on where they are, of course), this would look a lot better. Another thing to note is that the hoop itself seems rather flat. It needs outlines or some sort of definition on it. I commend you on the tapering you've done with the lines, however.

Finally, the impact of this piece. This category is a little tricky, because it depends on the artists intention. In this case, it was just a picture. It wasn't intended to probe deep thought or examine a theme - it was just meant to be a nice image. It does that just fine! It's a nice image and evokes a few thoughts such as "D'aww" and "Cute", so that's good. While not the most mind-blowing piece of artwork, it certainly meets the criteria for fanart.

Overall, the piece looks good - could be better with a few changes - but other than that, you've done some decent work with the drawing. Keep practicing and your future work will shine!

Yay, critique time! This is a really amazing picture, and I felt the need to give some input on how I feel. So, here we go!

As for your vision, you pulled it off perfectly. The changes to the character strongly encompass the look and feel of the 90s. Everything about Cheerilee, from the hair style, to the clothing and accessories to the look on her face is done greatly. She really has that grunge look to her, and it's fantastic.

Now, when it comes to originality, I had to dock a few stars because you based it on an existing image. However, you did make it a pony, so it's unique in it's own way! Not much else to say here!

Your technique is really well done. The proportions match the show just about perfectly, and the clothing and accessories seem like objects that could appear in the show. They don't stick out, and they seem natural. The way you made the hair messy also seems like something that could be show accurate, so awesome job with that. It looks really professional. The only problem I can find is that some of outlines don't have a set thickness at points, but besides that, great work.

Finally, the impact. As I said, this was done extremely well, and the piece really hits home with what it's intention was - styling Cheerilee for the 90s. The mood is there, everything fits, and best of all the art style matches the source. And, with growing up in the 90s, I can completely relate to all of this. It really struck me as a great looking composition, and I was very quick to hit the favorite button.

All in all, incredible work. The piece as a whole looks really fantastic, and I applaud your effort to make it show accurate.

I'm just going to go through each category here, because I absolutely love this image, and I want to get each of my points across.

Vision: If you were trying to get the point across that Rarity is the best pony, you succeeded! With the sultry eyes, sly smile, and the way the hair falls just so, it really gives off that "I'm the best" vibe.

Originality: I've seen wet haired Rarity before, but never quite like this. She's in the bathroom, fresh out of the shower, steam still lingering in the air. When it comes to Rarity, this is pretty original.

Technique: Your style is incredibly good, and very distinct. I can always tell when a piece is yours because of the faces, head construction and color choice. You have a great knowledge of color, form and shape, so you absolutely get 5/5 stars in this category.

Impact: While this may be the lowest rated category, it's not bad by any means. It doesn't hit me emotionally hard as some other pieces, but the thoughts are definitely there. For example, 'beautiful' comes to mind, as well as 'sexy'.

Overall, it's a very well done piece, and certainly does Rarity's character justice in terms of looks and attitude. Wonderful job.
